The Code bridges technology and theology, offering a shared language for religious and tech leaders and a practical blueprint for policymakers to ensure AI development preserves spiritual diversity and promotes ethical, human-centered practice.

Governance and Institutional Framework

  • Developed by the Interreligious Commission on AI Ethics, under the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
  • 26 members: representatives of major religions, academia, AI developers, and scientific communities.
  • Chaired by the International Center for Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue, the group employed consensus-driven, faith-based diplomacy to align theological principles with contemporary technological realities
